Mount Fuji, also called Fuji-san, is, at 12,388 feet, the high point of Japan and perhaps the world's most beautiful mountain. The perfectly symmetrical peak, towering 62 miles west of Tokyo, is especially beautiful in spring when snow still blankets the mountain and pink cherry blossoms frame it against the azure sky.
