因為大雨和天氣寒冷，英國著名觀光景點“多佛白壁”上月崩塌，約有重達數千噸、面積相當於一個足球場大的巨塊石灰崩塌後掉落海中。

幾千萬年前在英格蘭南部海藻化石形成的白堊崖，從法國橫越英吉利海峽到英國都會看到這片白壁，一直是英國著名的景觀。不過，由於海藻化石不夠強硬，一碰到大雨就會崩落，因此常有白堊崩塌。
