　（新山31日訊）隨著新加坡丹戎巴葛火車站關閉，馬來亞鐵道公司坐落在新山甘拔士峇魯的“南區火車維修廠和宿舍”計劃，將于明年7、8月開始竣工，總耗資額近4200萬令吉。
　這占地40公頃的計劃，也將包括行政部門、修車間、鐵路機車車間、6條軌道、訊號系統及其他設施如通行道、保安室、泊車場和安全圍籬等。tvb now,tvbnow,bttvb" x1 r/ A% m* j4 V$ A. j* O' ~7 E
　工程于今年1月17日展開，預期18個月竣工，即2013年7月16日。工程交由Hisniaga私人有限公司承包，4177萬578令吉經費由交通部承擔。7 X2 p# I1 k) _2 n% D
　第一階段工程員工宿舍（Running Bungalow）原訂7月16日竣工，但至今卻未建竣，交通部長拿督斯里江作漢今早前往工地聽取匯報時，也對此提出疑問。公仔箱論壇+ i$ b4 F4 T# V1 u
　事后，承包公司董事主席哈比告知記者，工程估計8月30日竣工，但未說明工程拖延原因。% J& s8 n  x$ W2 r1 _

　由于馬來亞鐵道公司所擁有和管理丹戎巴葛火車站，于去年把土地歸還新加坡，火車維修廠也被迫遷離。
　在這期間，鐵道公司在甘拔士峇魯建設一臨時維修車廠，耗資近50萬令吉。
　因此，一旦新的火車維修廠于明年投入運作，便可一站式管理和維修南馬區火車，其地點也鄰近現有的甘拔士火車站。
打造成綜合交通樞紐
新山甘拔士峇魯將被打造成包函雙軌火車、輕快鐵、德士和巴士等的“綜合交通樞紐”，當地經濟發展被看好。( ?: C. u4 h" R5 L
　據了解，政府已擬定約500畝地段，將甘拔士峇魯打造成綜合交通樞紐，“南區火車維修廠和宿舍”計劃只是其中一部分。公仔箱論壇3 \" k% ^9 A' c  z
　地段坐落在實達英達花園內政部大廈后方，靠近甘拔士火車站，因此估計雙軌鐵道計劃，將銜接甘拔士火車站至此地段的新火車站。! D' P( @# n) @7 O
　早前，江作漢便披露，金馬士通往新山的雙軌鐵道工程仍在進行，預料2013年7月完工。

JOHOR BARU: Malaysia and Singapore will make the decision on the Malaysia-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) link project next year.
Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) chief executive officer Datuk Ismail Ibrahim said authorities in both countries were currently undertaking a phase one joint-engineering study.$ o" M6 j1 A Y0 i' _' ]
He said the study, among others, looked into the various alignments, customs, immigration and quarantine-related matters and multimodal terminal locations and other critical perimeters.

Ismail: ‘The final outcome on what kind of link will be built will all depend on the recommendations of the study.’ # o1 l3 o2 v% Z+ C; w4 b
“Once it is completed, both governments will make a decision on the preferred alignments,'' Ismail told StarBiz yesterday., i( C" \6 R. M
He said there would probably be two options for the RTS project linking Johor Baru and Singapore for the trains to run above ground (grate) or via undersea tunnel.tvboxnow.com& h, b5 u1 k' j' o4 S+ Y! z
Ismail said if the latter was chosen for the project, there would also be a choice on whether there it would be a sunken tunnel or a bore tunnel.
