當「保持社交距離」成為香港人的日常，不少人因為缺乏社交機會而出現抑鬱症狀。然而人類需要一個怎樣的社交距離？是否愈遠愈差、而愈近又是否一定愈好？節目會安排代表不同人際關係的組合進行實驗，包括相識多年的閨蜜、仍在熱戀期的情侶、曾結怨的同事，以及正值反叛期的青少年與家長；每個組合的實驗對象會在其中一個手腕被鎖上特製的手銬、與另一方強制地共處36小時。除了洗澡和上廁所、二人近乎無間斷地共同面對及處理繁瑣的生活細節，當衣食住行都無法單獨執行，到底是解決了人類的寂寞、還是增加了令人窒息的壓力？
