Liverpool have sold Anthony Le Tallec to Le Mans for an undisclosed fee following the striker's failure to break into the first team at Anfield. The 23-year-old Frenchman has been allowed to leave by manager Rafael Benitez after spending the last season on loan at the Ligue 1 club.
Le Tallec joined the Reds from Le Harve in 2003 during Gerard Houllier's time as manager but his career on Merseyside failed to take off.
He made just 12 league appearances for the Reds - of which he started just five times - and scored just one goal in a UEFA Cup game during his first season.
Le Tallec, who also spent time on loan at Sunderland, St Etienne and Sochaux, has agreed a four-year deal at Le Mans.
