【專輯介紹】：连载于《周刊青年Magazine》的《湾岸MIDNIGHT》是由楠みちはる原作的赛车类漫画。这部名号略逊于《头文字D》的作品即将与6月动画化后与大家见面。湾岸MIDNIGHT是一部可以让沉迷于极速的人们不断向终点挑战的作品。主人公朝仓驾驶着被称为“恶魔之Z”的“S30Z”还有外科医生岛达也、秋川零奈向着首都最高速的目标发起挑战。　　而制作这部动画的STAFF班组将再次集结曾参加过《头文字D》的岸间信明、横井秀章，担任监修的是土屋圭市。而为主角朝仓配音的则是在日剧《流星花园》里出演花泽类一角的人气演员小栗旬，女主角秋川零奈的声优是すほうれいこ，岛达也一角由三木真一郎担当。小栗旬对于自己出演男主角声优朝仓一角表示，因为自己非常喜欢车子，但对竞速世界却完全不了解。但读了原作之后深感作品的魅力，决定更加努力完成朝仓这个角色。由于朝仓的性格沉默寡言，所以如何表现出他强烈被“Z”的魅力吸引是最关键的事。
